Our mission is to challenge the buy-and-throw-away culture in the furniture industry. That’s why at Wecycle, we produce all our products in Denmark using the most environmentally friendly materials possible, such as 100% residual wood and entirely natural textiles. However, sustainability should never come at the expense of design—that’s why our key design principles are Nordic, timeless, and minimalist.
This Outdoor Luna Bench is made from 100% residual wood sourced from European forests and features a hand-woven seat made from recycled seat belts salvaged from scrapped cars – giving each bench its own distinctive look. Like all Wecycle Furniture benches, it is designed and produced in Denmark.
Each bench is one of a kind, and the woven seat will vary in appearance from piece to piece. You may even spot small plastic buttons within the weave – a subtle reminder of the seat belt’s original purpose. See photos for examples.
The design is simple, Nordic, and minimalist – created as a counterpoint to the buy-and-throw-away culture, where trends tend to last only a season or two. The idea is to give new life to quality materials that would otherwise go to waste.
This outdoor bench is perfect for the terrace, balcony, greenhouse, or anywhere you need practical and beautiful seating. It is weatherproof and easy to maintain.

Danish Douglas fir
Douglas fir is a hard and stable wood species, making it perfect for outdoor furniture that needs to withstand all kinds of weather. As always at Wecycle Furniture, the wood is residual timber sourced from Danish forests.

Residual wood
Wood is often sorted out and used for firewood or wood chips if it has knots, warping, or an “incorrect” size. We aim to reduce resource waste by producing all our furniture from sorted-out wood. All our wood comes from Danish forests managed with environmentally friendly forestry practices.
