Wecycle Furniture får investering i Løvens Hule

Wecycle Furniture receives investment on Løvens Hule

Wecycle Furniture’s Wild Journey: From Backyard Workshop to Løvens Hule Investment

It has been an incredible journey for Wecycle Furniture. From humble beginnings in a small backyard in Christianshavn, to tonight’s national TV debut on Løvens Hule (Denmark’s Dragon’s Den) on DR1, where I secured investments from Louise Herping Ellegaard and Anne Stampe.

My mission is simple yet ambitious: to end the buy-and-throw-away culture by creating furniture from 100% leftover wood and natural textiles. My name is Didde Christiansen, and I’m taking on the furniture industry with Wecycle Furniture.

From Small Workshop to Major Retailer

It all started in August 2021 when I built a bench for myself using recycled wood from Den Grønne Hal in Christiania. Seeing early interest, I decided to try selling it on DBA and Facebook Marketplace. The first bench sold quickly and gave me the confidence to officially found Wecycle Furniture in early 2022 and commit fully.

Shortly after founding the company, Magasin reached out. They recognised the potential of Wecycle Furniture as a greener alternative and became my first retail partner. From that point, growth accelerated rapidly. My small workshop in Dragør couldn’t keep up as I was producing everything myself and spending nearly all my time working there.

Today, I no longer work solo in the workshop. Instead, Wecycle collaborates with skilled production partners and suppliers in Denmark who ensure the highest craftsmanship. All our furniture remains produced in Denmark, using exclusively 100% residual wood.

Leading the Way in Sustainable Furniture

My vision for Wecycle has always been clear: to build a greener furniture brand that challenges traditional industry players — without compromising design or quality.

By carefully managing our supply chain, we guarantee all products are made from 100% residual wood, sourced through our partnership with Bygma Danmark, along with recycled and natural textiles. Our goal is to become the eco-friendly alternative to conventional furniture brands.

Investing in the Future on Løvens Hule

Wecycle has grown from a hobby workshop to a growth company in just a few years — proving that our mission for a more sustainable furniture industry is needed. But we’re just getting started, which is why I chose to take the leap and appear on Løvens Hule.

For those who tuned in last night on DR1, you saw we secured a combined investment of DKK 400,000. Both Anne Stampe and Louise Herping Ellegaard each took a 10% stake in Wecycle Furniture.

With these new resources, we can accelerate our ambitions to put more sustainable interiors into consumers’ hands. The investment will fund the development of exciting new products we can’t wait to share.

Collaborating with Louise Herping Ellegaard and Anne Stampe

Having Louise and Anne as investors is a dream come true. They share our passion for solving the challenges in the furniture industry and see great potential in Wecycle’s approach.

I’m thrilled to start working alongside them and explore where we can take Wecycle together. We have many ideas brewing and look forward to sharing what’s next with you.
